Flue stands at the corner of Blount and Mitchell Streets in downtown Kinston. The series of earthcastings, reminiscent of tobacco farms seen all over eastern North Carolina, were completed in late 2015, with landscaping work finished this spring. Each weighs over 20 tons and stands 28' tall. “The form and content of this sculpture comes from the rich agricultural heritage, which, in no small part, formed the town of Kinston," Thomas Sayre noted at the time.
